Dawn Gibbins MBE, keynote speaker at Barnardo's

fund raising event

Manchester business and professional networking breakfast,

Thursday 13 May 2010

I was thrilled to be invited as keynote speaker at Barnardo's breakfast event, addressing a group of bankers, lawyers, consultants and entrepreneurs. The proceeds will be used to support the charity's work in the North West.

My time as Secret Millionaire opened my eyes to the fantastic work that the voluntary sector does in the community. And the aims of  Barnardo's are so close to my own. Barnardo's in the North West provides vital services to more than 11,000 and their families - with more than 36 community-based projects in the area. They provide a practical and positive response to problems like abuse, poverty, homelessness and the challenges of disability."

My talk - Dare to be Different - struck a chord with the attendees - a group of successful, influential people from the business community around Manchester.
