Dawn lends Support to Youngsters’ Entrepreneurial Plan

Dawn Gibbins MBE, founder and CEO of Barefoot, lent some sparkle to a prize-giving event to recognise the work of young people in industry.

Barefoot sponsored the Creativity and Innovation accolade at the annual Young Enterprise Cheshire and Warrington Strategic Final, won by a group of schoolchildren from Upton By Chester High School.

They formed a venture called ‘The Company,’ making plant pots and bowls from vinyl records, as well as purses from drinks cartons.

Dawn presented their prize at the regional finals, organised by the Young Enterprise North West.

The Company will now go through to the North West regional finals.

Dawn said: “We’ve pledged to sponsor this award for the next ten years, because the concept is just so inspirational.”
