Flowcrete, world leaders. Global coverage

Flowcrete Group plc

In 1982, I went into business with my brilliant father Peter, an industrial chemist, designing specialist flooring products from a small starter unit on an industrial estate. That was how Flowcrete was born.

Together, we built the company through a combination of hard work, innovation and a can-do attitude. Today Flowcrete is a global brand with offices in 26 countries, as well as manufacturing centres in the UK, South Africa, Europe, Asia, USA and Brazil.

Our client list includes Bentley, Jaguar, Glaxo SmithKline, Roche, Boots, Ford, Vauxhall, and Marks and Spencer.

Internationally, the American space centre NASA, as well as Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok Airports, are just some of the big names floored by Flowcrete.

The international influence has paid dividends. For example, when we acquired Swedish-based Perstorp Construction Chemicals, it brought with it culture already firmly committed to ‘green’ manufacturing methods. These have now been introduced across our entire organisation.

Half our company directors and a third of the workforce are women – twice the industry average.

In the words of The Times: "Flowcrete’s passion for manufacturing excellence has put the company on the map as one of the construction industry’s major success – and a shining example of what can be achieved with a dynamic approach to business"

Company firsts include the development of new products and application technologies, including the innovation of bug-controlling floors for the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as self-levelling flooring systems that allow applications to take place 40 times faster than conventional methods - taking the strain off the backs and knees of flooring installers.

On the way to the top, Flowcrete has received a wealth of accolades recognising its commitment to innovation, including five Government SMART Awards for Research and Development.

Latest movements within Flowcrete

We are moving in to India & China and developing successful businesses there, and have just bought new factory in Durban, South Africa. Closer to home, we are investing in new people in Europe to develop the mainland Europe marketplace.
